Finally, Ms.AH and Mr.HATT successfully...officially...try the 'IT' ramen in town. Learning from the past, cash stashed *not much* in wallet and arrived at the scene after their peak hours (way over lunch time, around 2 PM something and they almost closed for afternoon tea break) had made our way going smoothly. Ms.AH was ordering Ikkudo's Tori Kara, chicken ramen with ikkudo's special secret red spicy sauce. As you may all aware, here in Ikkudo we can customized the richness of the broth, the texture of our ramen, etc. and Ms.AH opt everything to be normal and had the curly type ramen.

For Jakartans, Outback is a well-known steak place, where you will definitely find a good steak with a
not too good price of course. Whenever Mr.HATT's carnivore instinct arise, he will think about Outback, just like last Friday night. Ms.AH was about to buy a goggle at the time, for the sake of one-stop-shopping & eating, we choose to eat at Outback PIM. As an opening, we were served a loaf of wheat bread, still warm and fluffy. The bread was nice, accompanied with some butter, one word for that...yummy!

Domino's Pizza have been around for awhile now, adding more choices to us *pizza addict* XD In Ms.AH's mind, Domino's is great, been eating it quite often. Usually Ms.AH bought the pizza from their branch in Central Park but recently Ms.AH moved away from that area so. Yah well, in short, a few days ago Mr.HATT was really into munching some pizza and decided to get it asap. That's mean, we got to get it from the nearest branch which is the one in Bellezza, Permata Hijau.

There are not much choice of seafood restaurants in malls, from those few, Fish & Co stands out. No need further explanation, Ms.AH believed that almost everybody already familiar with this place. Ms.AH just visited parent's place, it was dinner time so the three of us decided to have some seafood feast. The seafood platter for two always been our all time favorite, we ordered this one then. It's consist of pan fried dory fish, grilled prawns, mussels, squids ( we asked the squids to be fried, usually it's grilled), rice paella, and fries...yup it's a huge dish. The seafood platter is drizzled with lemon butter sauce, well everything on the pan is just fantastic. For this dish, a long decription really not necessary, just try it and you won't regret it.

Long...long time ago #when Ms.AH was still single and looking hihihi...Katsusei already exist and Ms.AH been dining there once. It was a blur memory but one thing is crystal clear, they are damn pricey. Last month, Ms.AH's favorite voucher website were selling Katsusei with a quite reasonable price, so to refresh Ms.AH's memory about Katsusei, why not buying? Now, let's see what Ms.AH and Mr.HATT were having there.

Waktu jamannya masih jadi mbak2 kantoran Ms.AH demen banget lunch *the happiest time in workday* di sini. Jadilah Ms.AH pesen nasi uduk, kuah ketupat sayur, ditambah telor pindang n bakwan udang.

Since Ms.AH read the Samy's Curry menu in room service deliveries booklet, this place have been sitting for some time on Ms.AH's must try list. But now Samy is gone already, Ms.AH and Mr.HATT just visited one of their branch. Samy's Curry is a franchise restaurant from Singapore, as read in the name, this place sells curry and other Indian foods, popular kind of food in Singapore. They have an open kitchen concept, therefore we can see that Samy's dishes cooked by an authentic looking Indian man. That night, we were kinda 'gelap mata' and ordering a lot...and a lot...

Like hubby like wifey, like Mr.HATT's sudden craving of drunken shrimps, Ms.AH also had food craving last week. After watching 'Food Surprise' about nasi lemak on late night TV show, Ms.AH suddenly had the urge to have some. So far, Ms.AH likes nasi lemak from Kemangi the most so that's where we headed right away XD. As always, the nasi lemak is tasty, very fragrant, and satisfying. Served with some shredded omelette, crunchy small fishes, melinjo crackers, and fried ground peanuts, this nasi lemak might be simple but never doubt its taste.

Once upon a time...errr....last week for more exact, Mr.HATT had this severe craving of 'drunken shrimps'. After doing a little research, Mr. HATT suggested that we eat at SunCity. For those who haven't been too familiar with the dish, let Ms.AH give some enlighten :D Drunken shrimp is referring to live shrimps cooked with wine, no... the shrimps didn't get drunk because of drinking, hmmm just a little maybe? Usually the chef will cooked this dish in front of the customer, entertain us with a little cooking acrobatic.

There are a new mall in the block, newest addition of the already mushrooming shopping purposed building in Jakarta. It's Lippomall aka Kemang Village, Ms.AH just went there today. Since the place relatively new, only a few tenants who already open their business in here, of course one of them are Lotteria. It's some Korean fast food chain, they sell fried chicken to burger and fries with other typical fast food dishes. Ms.AH was accompanied with beloved mom who felt like eating junk food at the time, so here we go.

Ms.AH and Mr.HATT gone crazy every weekend, always eat a bunch and spend a lot. Sigh, the last sentence is so not right. But worry no more, we just found an authentic japanese restaurant with good foods but quite pocket friendly. It is Torigen we talked about, located in South Jakarta where Japanese crowds can be easily spotted. We came here for a Saturday early dinner and Ms.AH didn't feel too hungry at the time so Ms.AH decided to have some light meals which turned out to be heavy on the stomach XP

The weekend just ended *darn* and let's get our spirit up to start Monday by looking at this beautiful lookin' ice cream creation. Sorry, exaggerating a bit :P , you know Ms.AH's affair with ice cream, it's a never ending story. Once again, yesterday Ms.AH was happened to be in the same neighbourhood with Island Creamery *hooray* (Ms.AH attending a very wild party in that area, well... a little guy turned 1 year old, what can be more wild than that *grin*)

Last week Ms.AH ate at several different places, one of them was soto padang. The soto padang thing was Ms.AH's dad in law's idea. Apparently, he used to eat here since he was very young and he wanted to introduce soto padang to Mr.HATT who never try this dish before. For Ms.AH who already familiar with soto padang, this H St.Mangkuto soto was just okay. For starter, Ms.AH must highlighted about the tiny portion. They are using rice bowl to serve the soto, can you imagine how small it is? For around IDR.25,000,- per bowl, Ms.AH think that they must give us more of those soup. The soup tasted fine but the fried meat could be more crunchy. Oh well, Mr.HATT said that he has no interest to coming back, Ms.AH of course will obliged. So bye...bye..soto Padang H St.Mangkuto, you won't see us again.
It's weekend again everybody, the happiest days of a week XD So why don't we start it with sweetness. Ms.AH just wondering around Gandaria City and stumbled upon this little stall selling modern beancurd. They have several flavours; original, almond, durian, and strawberry. After sampling all of them, Ms.AH choose the strawberry merely because Ms.AH never eat strawberry flavour beancurd before, the fact is all other flavours also good. D'beanz beancurd have a very smooth and silky texture with strong beans fragrant but at the same time we still can tasted the flavoring. Ms.AH dislike the traditional ginger flavour beancurd so this strawberry flavour is a good new way to eat cold beancurd. Now Ms.AH can enjoy a cold beancurd dessert, thanks to d'beanz...

After spending some time @ Starbucks, Ms.AH and gang moved to Sam & Jolly to grab some foods. We were not really hungry but Ms.AH influenced the others to try their signature 'Na Go Yo'. Ms.AH think that this nasi goreng is nice presented with good portion and have innovative side. The yogurt gave an unique touch to overall taste. Ms.AH quite enjoying this dish but not really blown away by it. Well, but Ms.AH must really appreciate the master mind who create this creative mix.

Ms.AH just went for 'Bubulic' gang monthly meeting *please don't ask what the meaning of 'Bubulic'...let's just say the meaning is not pretty at all, very contrary from all the beauties of bubulic member XD* Anyway, like usual, before we had our serious meal, we always hang out in some coffee shop to share pre-newest gossips hihihihi. Since Starbucks offering buy 1 get 1 for their Frappuccino, without hesitation we were all agree to meet up there. I mean, who on the earth not love all the buy 1 get 1 offering out there :P
One day, Ms.AH and mom did groceries shopping at Carrefour Permata Hijau. Since there wasn't much choice, we decided to grab some light meal at the food court. Mom claimed that she heard some good reviews about one of the kiosk, Mie Bangka Bintaro, so we gave it a try lah. This is what we ordered at the time.

Ms.AH think every chinese breed in Jakarta must be all very familiar with this legendary old restaurant or at least have knowledge about this place. Mr.HATT has been eating their food all his life and grown very fond of this place. Angke is those typical chinese restaurant where you will find three or more generations of a family dine-in together. So it is a bit odd when Ms.AH and Mr.HATT-*ehm...ehm...a very young couple* often spend our date night there :) And this is our most recent trip to Angke.

Last Saturday, one of Ms.AH's close friend was celebrating her li'l angel 1st birthday at BK Senayan City. After ate some burgers and fries, chit-chatting, and gossiping around, Ms.AH and Mr.HATT realized that the night still young and bright, such a waste if we just went straight home. Since Ms.AH been super curious about The Goods Cafe, hearing a lot of good comments regarding this place, then we decided to give it a try.

Ms.AH used to have this New Zealand Ice Cream regularly, but right after Baskin and Robbins have the special offer using Mega Credit Card, Ms.AH broke up with New Zealand and become engaged with Baskin. Sorry Newzea, discount items always been Ms.AH's weakness. Anyway, Ms. AH suddenly missing the sweetness of Newzea then bought two scoops of this yesterday. The unlucky flavour that got picked are Boysenberry Cream and Cookies n Cream. Well the Boysen turned out to be too sweet but the Cookies was milky nice and got a lot of cookies crumble, just the way Ms.AH think about how a good cookies n cream ice cream should be. Now Ms. AH has a newest sweet affair to deal with.
Ms.AH is a sucker for 'micin' taste hihihi, got this yummy umami Doritos specially imported from Singapore by Ms.AH's kindhearted sis in law. Not that we can't get it here, it just that Ms.AH doesn't feel like paying IDR.85.000,- to Ranch Market :P
Sunday, October 7, 2012
There's must be one or two or maybe several places that we usually go when we ran out of ideas about what to eat :D Because we know that no matter what, those one or two or several particular places will give us our comfort foods. For Ms.AH, one of those places is Eaton at MTA. Ms.AH never tried Eaton at other branches than MTA because rumour saying bad news. But it's still just rumours you know. Eaton is collaborating with two other brands; Ah Mei Cafe (serving Kopi Tiam style foods and beverages) and Sen Ju (serving Japanese foods), so you'll get plenty of choices.

Ms.AH is a regular and loyal customer of those voucher websites. The most recent buying of Ms.AH was Pielicious fruit tartlets charged as little as IDR.30,000,- for ten pieces. But you know what, they charged quite pricey for the delivery to Ms.AH's area which is not really that far from Pielicious kitchen. It was even more expensive than the fruit tartlets price itself!

Ms.AH doesn't usually eat fast food for breakfast, but this time was an exception. Yesterday morning Ms.AH and Mr.HATT rise very early for a little business and got very hungry afterward. Since we were driving around Kota area and no place seems alive but the bright sign of M so we just parked there.
Ms.AH always has a thing for Sunday, maybe it's the relax atmosphere, maybe it's the lazy feeling, whatever it is, one thing for sure, always start Sunday with a good meal, usually it's a brunch :D Last Sunday brunch, Ms.AH and Mr.HATT went for dimsum at The Duck King, Senci. Bored with the usual May Star, too lazy to move our butt to Chinatown area, The Duck King will do just fine. Plus, Ms.AH never tried The Duck King's dimsum before but judging from some reviews, it sounds promising.

After having the Stevan's steak, Ms.AH walked back to the parking lot and saw Ochado Bubble Tea nearby. Who can resist something sweet after a hearty meal? Not Ms.AH of course. Ms.AH went inside the shop and felt a bit intimidated by the woman behind the cash register. She had this cold expression without any smiley aura and looked impatient. Too scared to ask more about the menus,Ms.AH made a quick uncertain order, Okinawa Matcha Milk Tea with coffee crystal. Gosh, it turned out to be a good decision, one of the best tea that Ms.AH ever tried. At the bottom of the cup, sit those thick matcha goodness, giving you a strong flavor. They made this drink with real matcha, Ms.AH could taste the tea pulp. When Ms.AH got the first sip and found the bitterness of matcha was there, the milky sweets was there, all of sudden the woman's unfriendliness forgiven. Now Ms.AH has a new favorite drink.

Do you guys often fooled by banners? Or maybe it just me :( Let me tell you my story...A couple of weeks ago, Ms.AH and Mr.HATT saw those 50% off banner in front of Stevan Meat Shop, it said that the promotion will be ended on the last day of September. So last weekend, almost reach the end of September, Ms.AH and Mr.HATT rushed to Stevan and expecting to get the big discount. Apparently, the promotion wasn't valid for weekend and the steak from their meat bar not included in the promotion. Sigh...we fought those crazy traffic for nothing. But we still ate there anyway, chewing every bite with big disappointment hihihi
