Hellow!! It's 'harpitnas' aka hari kejepit nasional aka I wish I could have days off and here I am....still in the office but, my mind is on vacation lol...So, let me continue about my last Belitung trip. When I did my research about Belitung, I was curious about this small warung owned and named as Mak Janah....yes it is Warung Mak Janah. She sells Belitung staple simple meals such as mie Belitung, suto or soto Belitung, gado-gado, etc. I have tried the mie Belitung so my main target in Warung Mak Janah is their famous soto Belitung. From what I read, I can be sure that this soto is more suitable for my palatte than mie Belitung.
This Soto Belitung is savoury with curry style soup and for the filling its got bits of beef, vermicelli, ketupat (rice cakes), and melinjo crackers. As I predicted before, I like the soto much better than mie Belitung, both are staple dishes of Belitung island though. I dislike sweetness in my supposed to be not sweet dishes, you know what I mean? Am I writing it wrongly? Hope you get it....excuse my poor English yaaa!? As I wrote before, mie Belitung tasted a bit sweet thats why I prefer the soto.Soto Belitung is perfect for breakfast, the portion is kinda small but with rice cakes inside, this dish can be quite fullfilling. That's all I can write about the Warung Mak Janah, while I were there, I only eat that one dish because I still have long list of eating scenario. See you in the next eating place!
