After spending a night in Lor In Villa, Ms.AH and Mr.HATT moved to Grand Hatika Hotel (more thoughts of this hotel in the next post ok) in Tanjung Pandan city. Before check in, we visit the famous Mie Atep on Sriwijaya street. Every tour package or let's just say that everybody who visit Belitung will definetely put mie Atep in their eating scenario. So why don't we? Eventhough judging from some reviews...I can be sure that this mie isn't really my cup of tea.
This mie Atep is noodle with gravy type...similar with emie from Medan. The gravy itself made from shrimps broth and tasted a bit sweet. Basically mie Belitung Atep consists of yellow noodle, bits of tofu, bits of seafood/shrimp cake, two pieces of small shrimps, pickles, and melinjo crackers. When I eat it....I have to add quite a lot amount of chili sauce so I got this balance sweet-spicy sensation, but it just me....A lot of people think that this mie Atep is tasty as it is.
Other than the noodle, I also try their nasi tim aka steamed chicken rice. Tastewise....hmmmmm....I think the rice is too dry for this kind of dish and the chicken meat is way to little. In the end, after just a few bites...I only got to eat the plain rice, so sad! The nasi tim really need some improvement I think. But the good news is they put a very affordable price for the foods and also the drinks. Ms.AH and Mr.HATT only spent around IDR.40K something for one mie Belitung, one nasi tim, two es jeruk kunci (orange juice). Like it or not....if you happen to be in Belitung, just try this signature dish of Belitung, for the sake of the experience that is.
